The title of “Best Welder of Gazprom Armenia  — 2022” was awarded to Martin Shkhrdumyan from Transgaz LLC

May 31, 2022 15:18The results of the first phase of the competition of professional skills for the title of «Best Welder of Gazprom Armenia — 2022» have been summarized, in which 7 welders from Tavush, Shirak, Kotayk, Yerevan Gasification and Gas supply Branches (GGB) and Transgaz LLC of CJSC Gazprom Armenia took part.

The competition was held from May 23 to May 27 at the Educational-technical Center of the Engineering Center Branch and at the Specialized Branch of Underground Operations of Transgaz LLC.

The competition consisted of two tasks: practical and theoretical. The participants welded pipe joints of various diameters and passed a theoretical exam on the knowledge of the basics of welding process and labor protection.

According to the results of the competition, the title of “Best Welder of Gazprom Armenia — 2022” was awarded to the electric welder of the sixth class Martin Shkhrdumyan from Transgaz LLC. The second and third places were taken by electric welders of the sixth class Arayik Hambardzumyan (Transgaz LLC) and Genady Chobanyan (Transgaz LLC), respectively.

The Chairman of the Competition Committee, Deputy General Director — Chief Engineer of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan congratulated the winners, emphasizing that the competition was organized at a high level.

“Such competitions allow not only to identify our best welders, but also provide a good opportunity to exchange experience. I would like to note that the Armenian welders have always been distinguished by high professional skills and not only our winners, but all the participants of the competition are worthy carriers of the best professional welding traditions that have been created over decades,” Ashot Hakobyan noted.

Deputy General Director — Chief Engineer of CJSC Gazprom Armenia proposed to consider the possibility of organizing competitions of professional skills also for other specialists from the technical staff of subsidiaries and branches of the Company.

The winner will take part in the “Best Welder of PJSC Gazprom — 2022” competition (second phase), which will be held in the Russian Federation.
