Issues related to production and economic activity of Gazprom Armenia were discussed
Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Vitaly Markelov held a meeting during which issues related to the production activity of the Company were discussed.
Opening the meeting, Vitaly Markelov congratulated Ashot Hakobyan on the occasion of his appointment as the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of CJSC Gazprom Armenia.
“Mr. Hakobyan, I congratulate you, I am sure that you will ensure the continuity of the production policy of Gazprom Armenia. Today, we have a number of issues on our agenda, including issues related to increasing the economic efficiency of the Company's activity. The main work in this direction has been done by the Russian and Armenian specialists, however there are still aspects to be clarified. In general, we have a lot of hard and serious work ahead of us,” noted the Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Gazprom Armenia.
It was emphasized the need to increase the capacity and reliability of the gas supply system of Armenia, in view of the prospective growth in natural gas consumption in the country and, accordingly, the increase of natural gas volumes supplied from the Russian Federation.
Speaking about the social activities of Gazprom Armenia, V. Markelov emphasized that an Educational — sport complex has been built in Armenia, which is a rather serious social facility.
«I would like to note that there are not a lot of such multifunctional, well-equipped complexes in Russia, and in this regard it should be said Gazprom Armenia is ahead of all. It is necessary to use the potential of this Complex in terms of training future specialists for the gas industry. We are facing a struggle for human resources. We — Gazprom in Russia and Gazprom Armenia in Armenia, are responsible for ensuring energy security and we must have reliability in everything, including professional, competent labor resources,» noted the Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Gazprom Armenia.
During the meeting the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan presented the work performed at the facilities of the gas transportation system and gas distribution network, as well as current and future production programs of the Company.
“Major repair works are underway both in the gas transportation system and in the facilities of the gas distribution network, which is developing in parallel. Up to 100 kilometers of gas distribution pipelines are to be repaired every year. In general, the scope of work is quite large and unprecedented, but I should be mentioned that we are ready to increase the pace in that direction, including the capacity of underground gas storage," said Ashot Hakobyan.
Extended reports on the production, financial and economic activities of the Company, as well as medium-term development program of Gazprom Armenia were also presented at the meeting.
