Operations on relocation of corresponding parts of main gas pipeline Red Bridge-Alaverdi from the territory of Georgia took place
In order to increase reliability of gas supply, CJSC Gazprom Armenia continues major repair and construction operations of new gas distributing objects in the Republic of Armenia.
Main gas pipeline Red Bridge-Alaverdi with the diameter of 720mm was constructed in 1985. Part of it with the length of 3km was going through the territory of Georgia. Specialists of CJSC Gazprom Armenia faced obstacles against maintenance and exploitation of the pipeline. In order to guarantee the security of exploitation and maintenance of mentioned part, as well as in order to guarantee reliable gas supply to the Western regions of Armenia, decision of relocation the gas pipeline from Georgia and construction of the new one in Armenia was made.
From 2017 to 2019, in the framework of the Investment Program of CJSC Gazprom Armenia, corresponding operations on the territory with the length of 4,9km took place. The Company conducted construction operations on river, road and railway crossings. Exploitation of the object started in 2019.
