Gazprom Armenia Employees Donate Over 700 Books to School Libraries and Russian Community Centers

Employees of Gazprom Armenia CJSC have donated books to school libraries. As part of the traditional campaign, more than 700 new books in Russian were collected this year. The campaign was held in honor of Book Giving Day, celebrated in Armenia on February 19, the birthday of the great Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan.

Although the campaign’s slogan was “One Book from Each Person,” employees from both the company’s headquarters and regional branches donated several books each. Books of different genres — fiction, adventure stories, and anthologies of world classics, educational books, fairy tales, and children’s encyclopedias were collected for school-aged children/
In collaboration with the public organization «Rossia» of the Republic of Armenia, the donated books were handed over to the libraries of the Slavyanskaya Secondary School affiliated with the «Rossia» organization; A.S. Pushkin Basic School No. 4 in Vanadzor; Basic School No. 7 in Gyumri; the Russian school at the Russian border guard base in Gyumri; V. Karapetyan Basic School No. 3 in Sevan; and R. Patkanyan Basic School No. 9 in Etchmiadzin.
School representatives noted the significant value of the initiative of the “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC’s employees, emphasizing that the new books are a meaningful gift for students. Such actions help rekindle the appreciation for books and literature and stimulate children's interest in reading-especially in an age dominated by digital technology, where the “living book” is often pushed to the background.

A portion of the donated books was also delivered to Russian community centers in Yerevan, Abovyan, and Stepanavan.
