More than 480 employees of Gazprom Armenia CJSC were trained at the Training and Technical Center in 2024

February 24, 2025 14:00Professional training, advanced training, improvement of relevant knowledge and skills of specialists working in the gas industry play a significant role in terms of ensuring reliable and uninterrupted gas supply, safe operation of natural gas transportation and distribution system facilities.

The Educational — Technical Center (ETC) of the «Engineering Center» branch of «Gazprom Armenia» CJSC oversees the professional training and skill enhancement. The ETC’s technical classroom is equipped with individual demonstration components and assemblies of the gas supply system, domestic gas appliances, and a gas regulating point. This setup enables trainees to reinforce the theoretical knowledge gained during lectures and study the structure and operation of various systems in a hands-on environment. Additionally, the ETC houses a laboratory where practical training sessions are conducted for operators specializing in the welding of polyethylene pipes.

The classes, which are organized and conducted on a regular basis by the Educational and Technical Center, allow gas industry specialists to acquire practical skills and experience, know the safety rules in the gas industry, the technical operation of gas supply system facilities, the requirements for labor protection and fire safety, and environmental protection.

Last year, the ETC held relevant classes for the following specialists:

— engineering and technical workers and line personnel of organizations servicing the gas distribution system;

— engineering and technical workers and line personnel of organizations servicing the gas transportation system;

— engineering and technical workers and line personnel for the maintenance and operation of underground gas storage stations (UGS);

— gas utilities inspectors who record gas consumption;

— responsible for gas facilities of institutions, boiler houses and other organizations;

— polyethylene pipe welding operators;

— personnel servicing gasified process furnaces and units in gas facilities;

— engineers for the development of design and estimate documentation for gas supply systems;

— emergency dispatch service personnel.

In 2024, 549 specialists of the gas industry of the republic, including 485 employees of Gazprom Armenia CJSC, were trained at the educational and technical center of the «Engineering Center» branch. The Educational and Technical Center also developed a thematic plan for additional professional development «Retraining in high-risk work» and organized retraining and unscheduled testing of knowledge of 509 employees of «Transgaz» LLC of «Gazprom Armenia» CJSC.
