Current and planned activities under the production programs of Gazprom Armenia considered at the extended meeting

September 10, 2024 12:02During the extended meeting, the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan congratulated his colleagues on the past professional holiday, wishing them new achievements and success in their future work.

Expressing his satisfaction with the summary results of the production and economic activities of 2023, Ashot Hakobyan noted that these economic indicators create a good basis for the further stable activities of the Company and implementation of prospective development plans.

«The positive dynamics is the collective result of our teamwork, and with this resource, we can claim better results,» said Ashot Hakobyan.

At the meeting, reference was made to the current and upcoming production programs, emphasizing the measures related to the modernization and reconstruction of the Abovyan Underground Gas Storage Station, in particular to the provision of technical conditions necessary for the normal operation of the UGSS and storage of sufficient volumes of natural gas in the underground storage facility.

Ashot Hakobyan noted the importance of large-scale work aimed at the construction of a new compressor station within the framework of the production programs of the Company.

By the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, these activities were recognized as investments of strategic importance and the land plot allocated for the construction of a new compressor station was recognized as a public interest, since the Abovyan UGSS is a real guarantee of energy security, ensuring energy independence, reliable and uninterrupted gas supply.

It was noted that in order to improve the level of reliability and safety of the gas transmission and gas distribution systems operation, the efficiency of production processes, measures are being taken to introduce an operation dispatch supervisory control system.

«This system will allow to provide effective automated control and management of technological and production processes for the transportation and distribution of natural gas. The system will make it possible to timely detect and eliminate deviations from the specified technological regimes, to prevent the development of accidents and emergency situations, minimizing the time of their localization and elimination,» said the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of Gazprom Armenia.

The natural gas balance of the country will also be drawn up by this system and will become the main tool for analyzing the situation and making decisions in real time.

Ashot Hakobyan emphasized that comprehensive works aimed at providing additional new capacities of gas supply continue in Yerevan city due to the large-scale construction of new apartment buildings.

«This means that in the coming years, new gas consumption systems will be connected to the gas distribution network, the number of gas consumers will increase, and consequently the volume of work will increase in all directions of our activity,» said the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of Gazprom Armenia.

In terms of upcoming plans, it was mentioned that measures were being taken to create the Chief Welder Service and the Certification Center for Welding Production in the Engineering Center Branch.

«The Service and the Certification qualification center will provide an opportunity for the development and improvement of the quality of our welding production and ensure its compliance with the regulatory requirements of PJSC Gazprom. In addition, the welding production specialists of Gazprom Armenia will have registered, valid qualification certificates,» said Ashot Hakobyan.
