Gas pipelines with a total length of about 5,200 meters have been restored in Lori and Tavush regions

Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan held an extended meeting at which the results of the production and economic activity of the GG Branches for May of the current year were reviewed and issues related to the operation of gas distribution system facilities were discussed.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director was presented with the results and progress of the works aimed at restoring the damaged gas pipelines operated by CJSC Gazprom Armenia as a result of the natural disaster caused by the flooding of the rivers in Lori and Tavush regions on May 26.

Because of the natural disaster, gas distribution networks in the cities of Dilijan, Ijevan, Ayrum, Tashir, Alaverdi, Tumanyan, Vanadzor, and the settlements of Khashtarak, Dzoragetavan, and Teghut were seriously damaged. More than 19,000 consumers were left without gas supply.

It was noted that gas supply has been restored in all settlements where emergency restoration work was carried out.

Due to emergency rehabilitation works, damaged sections of medium and low pressure gas pipelines with a total length of about 5,200 meters have been restored.

Ashot Hakobyan instructed to analyze the actual data on the damage, keep risky sections of the gas distribution system under control, conduct additional inspections and if necessary organize work of re-installation and construction-assembly of gas pipelines.
