Large-scale work under the General Gasification and Gas Supply Scheme of RA are in progress

At the meeting held by the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan, the current production programs of Gazprom Armenia and upcoming works at the facilities of the gas transmission and gas distribution systems were discussed.

In the context of issues related to financial and economic activity of the Company, it was noted that as a result of the effective activity of the past few years, Gazprom Armenia has consistently reduced the large credit burden formed over the years. It was emphasized that on August 29, 2023, the Company was able to fully repay the final balance of the loan.

Within the framework of the Investment Program and the Major Repair Plan of Gazprom Armenia, large-scale works envisaged by the General Gasification and Gas Supply Scheme of the Republic of Armenia are in progress. In particular, the 21-kilometer section of the Goris-Nakhijevan gas pipeline with 700 mm diameter was put into operation in August.

In accordance with the planned deadlines, the restoration and repair of the linear part of the gas distribution system gas pipelines as well as the major repair of gas distribution stations (GDS) and the infrastructure of the Abovyan underground gas storage station are being carried out.

All measures planned to ensure reliable and safe operation of Gazprom Armenia facilities in the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024 are carried out according to the approved schedule.

In terms of the implementation of the project to provide Yerevan with additional new gas supply capacities, it was noted that at the meeting based on the technical specifications provided by Gazprom Armenia, a number of developers located in the same direction of the city have started the construction of new GDS and gas distribution networks in a coordinated manner. In some areas, there are already built systems and the construction — installation works on the facilities of gas pipeline branches are proceeding at a rapid pace. After the completion of the currently implemented works in the northeastern and southwestern parts of the city, where the main concentration of large-scale construction is observed, it is expected to meet the necessary demand for gas consumption.

Reference was also made to the measures of digitalization of production processes, within the framework of which Gazprom Armenia initiated the development of technical requirements and design assignments for the implementation of the operational dispatch control system of regulatory processes of the Company in order to improve supervisory control functions in the gas transmission system. One of the goals of the operational dispatch control system is the continuous automated monitoring and ensuring the reliability, safety and efficiency of production and technological processes of gas transportation.

At the same time, it is planned to optimize operational and technical functions in the gas transmission system. To this end, a pilot program will be launched this year to monitor and control main gas transmission pipelines and infrastructure using unmanned aerial vehicles (UMAVs).

At the end of the discussion, reference was also made to the personnel policy implemented in the Company. Ashot Hakobyan pointed out the need for further development and intensification of activate cooperation with relevant specialized educational institutions in order to attract young specialists to the gas system, to form the personnel reserve and replenish the engineering and technical staff of the Company, which will ensure the stable generational change of specialists.
