Issues of the Abovyan UGSS operation and development prospects discussed in Armenia
On July 13, a meeting was held at Gazprom Armenia to discuss the problematic issues of operation and the possibility of expanding the Abovyan Underground Gas Storage Station (UGSS) in the Republic of Armenia.
The meeting chaired by the Deputy Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom Oleg Makariev, was attended by executives and specialists of CJSC Gazprom Armenia, Transgaz LLC, Gazprom Geotechnologies LLC and JSC Gazprom Promgaz.
The expansion, reconstruction and modernization of the Abovyan UGSS are envisaged by the General Scheme of Gas Supply and Gasification of the Republic of Armenia developed by JSC Gazprom Promgaz and are step by step included in the production programs of the Company.
The participants of the meeting visited the Abovyan underground gas storage station, toured the area of gas wells and assessed the progress of diagnostic, repair and restoration work.
It was decided to continue monitoring the condition of gas wells and underground reservoirs of the Abovyan UGSS, to update the recommendations and proposals for its expansion, reconstruction and modernization.
