Comprehensive works and activities at gas transmission and gas distribution facilities

Comprehensive works and activities are being carried out at gas transmission system and gas distribution network facilities throughout the whole territory of Armenia, within the framework of the General Gasification and Gas Supply Scheme of the Republic of Armenia, which are planned by the investment program and Major Repair Plan of Gazprom Armenia.

Total volume of capital investments for the five-year period is planned in the amount of 97,753.6 million AMD (without VAT) in the following main directions:

— reconstruction and major repair of gas transmission system facilities;

— expansion, reconstruction and major repair of the Abovyan underground gas storage station;

— investments aimed at connection of  new gas consumers to the existing gas supply system;

— investments to be made in other directions of gas transmission and gas distribution systems.

This year it is planned in particular to carry our major repair (including the repair of block valve stations) of the main gas transmission pipelines Ghazakh-Berd-Sevan with 1000 mm diameter, Gyumri-Maralik with 500 mm diameter, Goris-Kapan-Kajaran with 500 mm diameter, Jermuk-Vayk with 300 mm diameter, Goris-Nakhichevan with 700mm diameter, within the framework of the Major Repair Plan.

It is also planned to carry out major repair of the infrastructures and technological units of Gyumri-2 and Kajaran Gas distribution stations and Abovyan UGSS.

The scope of works at the gas distribution network facilities includes the major repair of medium and low pressure underground gas pipelines in Yerevan and settlements of Shirak, Lori, Kotayk, Armavir, Gegharkunik and Tavush regions of Armenia. Total length of gas pipeline sections to be repaired is about 60 km.
