Transgaz LLC conducted comprehensive emergency response trainings connected with spring flooding
On March 23 comprehensive emergency response trainings were held at gas transmission system facilities of all 5 linear operation branches (LOB) of Transgaz LLC (the subsidiary of CJSC Gazprom Armenia) including at the Abovyan LOB with a visit to the presumed accident site.
Some actions were practiced during the training aimed at accident elimination on the linear part of the main gas transmission pipeline, the occurrence of which is possible in spring flood conditions.
According to the scenario of the training on «Overflow of the support and the coast by storm waters at the air crossing of the main gas transmission pipeline» the support and the coast at the air crossing over the ravine on the linear section of the Jraber-GDS 2 main gas transmission pipeline were washed out by mudflows.
An emergency team, equipped with relevant equipment, fixtures, materials, personal protection and fire-fighting equipment, was sent to localize and eliminate the consequences of the accident.
Within the frame of the recovery work the emergency team of the Abovyan LOB performed all necessary actions in compliance with all safety requirements.
After the completion of the training a general discussion took place in Transgaz LLC, during which the actions of each member of the emergency team were considered and the results of the training sessions were summarized.
