Presentation of the Center for Geospatial Technologies was held at Gazprom Armenia
Within the framework of the project aimed at digitalization of production processes, increase of operation and maintenance efficiency of gas distribution system facilities using modern technologies, the relevant subdivisions of CJSC Gazprom Armenia, together with the Engineering Center Branch are currently considering proposals from a number of organizations that develop software and supply necessary equipment.
In particular, projects for the development and compilation of electronic mapping systems, technological schemes of gas distribution network gas pipelines are being studied.
On March 29, Gazprom Armenia hosted a presentation of the Center for Geospatial Technologies, during which technologies for laser scanning and high-precision modeling of terrain and objects, mapping, remote maintenance of gas pipelines using unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with appropriate control and monitoring devices were presented. Other technical possibilities that can be used in the operation and maintenance of gas distribution system facilities were also presented.
Following the presentation, the Chairman of the Management Committee — General Director of CJSC Gazprom Armenia Ashot Hakobyan instructed to jointly organize a pilot mapping and modeling of the underground gas pipeline section of the gas distribution network together with the Center for Geospatial Technologies. After receiving practical results, further measures will be taken to introduce digital systems in the future.
